Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint: Morris replaces Doyle on Bradsell
?q=100)
Bradsell, winner of the Group 1 King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot in June, will have a change of riders for the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint on Nov. 4 at Santa Anita.
Regular rider Hollie Doyle will miss the race while serving a seven-day suspension for causing interference in a race earlier this month at Kempton Park, near London.
Luke Morris has been named as a replacement, according to reports in the British media.
Bradsell, 3, has won 3 of 8 starts in Britain and Ireland. The King’s Stand Stakes at five furlongs on a straightaway course is by far the colt’s most prestigious win.
Bradsell has lost two starts in Group 1 stakes at five furlongs on turf since the King Stand Stakes, finishing third behind BC Turf Sprint hopeful Live In The Dream in the Nunthorpe Stakes at York in August and seventh in the Flying Five Stakes at The Curragh in Ireland on Sept. 10.
Morris has had one Breeders’ Cup mount in his career, finishing sixth in the BC Turf Sprint on Marsha at Del Mar in 2017.
