Trainer Aidan O’Brien on Friday was scheduled to ship eight of his nine Breeders’ Cup pre-entrants to Del Mar from Ireland. Beautify, one of three he pre-entered in the Juvenile Fillies Turf, did not ship because she did not come out of her last work well, O’Brien told Daily Racing Form. O’Brien is expected to run only Precise in the Juvenile Fillies Turf. True Love, who was pre-entered in this race, has first preference and will run in the Juvenile Turf Sprint, O’Brien said. With Beautify out and True Love to the Juvenile Turf Sprint, both La Ville Lumiere and Celebrity Warrior draw into the Juvenile Fillies Turf field from the preference list. La Ville Lumiere is also pre-entered in the Juvenile Fillies and trainer Michael McCarhty said Friday morning that a final decision had not yet been made on which race she would be entered on Monday. On Friday, La Ville Lumiere worked five furlongs in 59.33 seconds in company with Meaning, who is going to run in the Juvenile Fillies. La Ville Lumiere, who won sprinting on turf, comes out of a third-place finish in the Oak Leaf at Santa Anita on dirt. “Her last race was a solid performance,” McCarthy said. “Seems like she trains well over this racetrack. I’m sure we’ll come up with a race in the next day or two.” Celebrity Warrior, a maiden trained by Pletcher for Mike Repole, worked a half-mile in 49 seconds over at Saratoga. – additional reporting by Steve Andersen :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
