Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies: So Many Ways finished for the year, will point to 3-year-old campaign

So Many Ways, the undefeated winner of the Grade 1 Spinaway at Saratoga, will not run in the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies at Santa Anita, her owner, Maggi Moss, announced in a press release issued Wednesday.

So Many Ways is trained by Tony Dutrow and is to be turned out under his care in Maryland before gearing up for a 3-year-old campaign that could be launched at Gulfstream Park.

Dutrow told Daily Racing Form the day after the Sept. 2 Spinaway that So Many Ways grabbed herself on the coronet band of her left foreleg. At the time, Dutrow said he believed it was not a serious setback and that he intended to run her again this year.

“I have struggled with the decision of whether or not we should push her as she continues to grow and mature for the thrill of running in the Breeders’ Cup,” said Moss. “After great deliberation, I have weighed what is in her best interest, versus my chance to compete at Santa Anita and decided it is simply pushing her too hard.”

So Many Ways is 3 for 3. She won the Spinaway in her last start, and before that accounted for the Grade 3 Schuylerville at Saratoga on July 20. So Many Ways began her career with an eighth-length maiden special weight win at Parx on June 9.
