Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies: Dayoutoftheoffice puts up big Beyer

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Dayoutoftheoffice furthered her status among the divisional elite by winning the Grade 1 Frizette last Saturday at Belmont Park in a terrific follow-up to her breakthrough triumph in the Grade 3 Schuylerville in July.

The two-length Frizette score resulted in a 92 Beyer Speed Figure and places Dayoutoftheoffice among the core of favorites for the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies on Nov. 6 at Keeneland, along with Princess Noor and Simply Ravishing. All three 2-year-old fillies are unbeaten in three starts.

The 92 Beyer is the highest for any 2-year-old filly this year. At the same time, Vequist earned an 88 when finishing second as the odds-on favorite behind Dayoutoftheoffice in the Frizette in a solid performance that did little to diminish her chances when both fillies stretch out to 1 1/16 miles in the Juvenile Fillies.

The Frizette results led Daily Racing Form handicapper David Aragona to tweak his odds for the Juvenile Fillies. Princess Noor is now 5-2, followed by Simply Ravishing at 3-1 and Dayoutoftheoffice down to 7-2.

Princess Noor, trained by Bob Baffert, had her first breeze since her most recent start when going a half-mile Saturday in 47.40 seconds in company. The daughter of Not This Time has won her three races by a combined 17 1/4 lengths, ending with an 8 1/4-length romp in the definitive California prep, the Grade 2 Chandelier on Sept. 26 at Santa Anita.

Meanwhile, Girl Daddy stayed sharp with a bullet drill last Friday at Churchill, getting five furlongs in 59.60. The gray Uncle Mo filly will run in the Juvenile Fillies off a nine-week layoff, having won the Pocahontas during Kentucky Derby week to run her career mark to 2 for 2.

From California, trainer Peter Miller said via text message that Forest Caraway remains under consideration for the Juvenile Fillies despite not having a prep since her second in the Del Mar Debutante on Sept. 6. Miller decided against shipping her cross-country for the Frizette.
