Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint an option for Paid Up Subscriber

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Paid Up Subscriber is being considered for a turnback in distance in the $1 million Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint after finishing second to I’m a Chatterbox in the 1 1/8-mile Spinster last Sunday at Keeneland.
Trainer Al Stall Jr. said “everything will have to be perfect with the horse” for Paid Up Subscriber to run Nov. 5 in the Filly and Mare Sprint, to be run at seven furlongs at Santa Anita.

“I’m going to piddle around with her for the next week or so and see how she’s come out of the race,” said Stall, based at Churchill Downs. “I’m sure some sharpies wouldn’t mind seeing her turning back. There’s usually support for a horse like her.”
Paid Up Subscriber earned a Win and You’re In spot in the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Distaff by taking the Grade 2 Fleur de Lis at Churchill on June 18. The berth can be transferred to a Breeders’ Cup race with an equal or lower purse.
Paid Up Subscriber, owned by Seth Klarman and William Lawrence, becomes the third 4-year-old filly under consideration for the Filly and Mare Sprint after being successful in longer races this year, along with Curalina and Tara’s Tango.
I’m a Chatterbox earned a Win and You’re In berth in the Nov. 4 BC Distaff with her seven-length romp in the Grade 1 Spinster. The 1 1/8-mile Distaff already had Songbird, Stellar Wind, Beholder, and Forever Unbridled as favorites.
