Bravo, Napravnik ride stakes winners

Prominent out-of-town riders Joe Bravo and Anna Napravnik scored victories on front-runners in Thursday night's co-featured $75,000 stakes for 3-year-old Pennsylvania-breds at Penn National Race Course.

Bravo was aboard Reata's Quik Punch ($4.20), who cruised to a 4 1/2-length win over Extra Sexy Psychic in the Wonders Delight for fillies.

A daughter of Two Punch trained by Joe Orseno, Reata's Quik Punch set fast fractions of 21.80 and 45.05 seconds en route to covering six furlongs in 1:09.78. Now 3 for 5 in her career, Reata's Quik Punch was coming off a victory in an optional $25,000 claimer at Gulfstream Park in her season debut on April 18.

In the Danzig for colts and geldings, Napravnik picked up the mount on Balian ($20.40) when Jeremy Rose elected to stick with Double Down Vinman, the 1-5 favorite.

Balian, who raced exclusively on Polytrack at Woodbine in six starts at 2, shortened up to six furlongs off a pair of routes at Philadelphia Park. He led through fractions of 22.34 and 45.50 while defeating Double Down Vinman by 1 1/2 lengths in a final time of 1:09.98.

Trained by Steve Klesaris, Balian has now won two in a row and 3 of 8 lifetime.
