Barbara D. Livingston Iron Man Cal earned a 92 Beyer Speed Figure for his June 7 win.

THE WHITE LADY
Trainer:
Phil D’Amato
Last race: June 5, 7th
Finish: 3rd by 3
Beyer: 75
Comeback mare needed a prep in this turf mile. Saved ground while third on rail, angled out for stretch drive, finished evenly, first in 10 months. Promising comeback. The White Lady likes Del Mar.

GOODIES
Trainer:
Phil D’Amato
Last race: June 6, 1st
Finish: 3rd by 2 3/4
Beyer: 69
Repeat HTW lister changed tactics after showing speed and tiring first out. Rated fourth in maiden turf sprint, waited for room, evenly late. She is ready for maiden win on the stretch-out.

CONFIDENCE MAN
Trainer:
Brian Koriner
Last race: June 6, 5th
Finish: 1st by neck
Beyer: 65
Second-start maiden broke last in Cal-bred maiden sprint, trailed field, gradually picked up steam, rallied inside, up late. His performance was much better than modest speed figure.

LOOKIN AT DIAMOND
Trainer:
Leonard Powell
Last race: June 6, 8th
Finish: 3rd by 1 1/2
Beyer: 79
Recent maiden winner ran well in turf stakes. Three- and four-wide midfield, passively ridden into lane, kicked too late. Improving filly fits in N1X or G2 San Clemente July 18 Del Mar.

DREAMRIDER
Trainer:
Neil Drysdale
Last race: June 7, 6th
Finish: 3rd by 6 1/4
Beyer: 63
Late-runner had no shot in N2L starter dominated by speed. Lagged near back behind tepid pace, angled out and produced an okay late run. Worth following in N2L turf route if pace to run at.

IRON MAN CAL
Trainer:
Phil D’Amato
Last race: June 7, 8th
Finish: 1st by 1/2
Beyer: 92
Grade 1-placed juvenile, now 4, ran best race of career in first since being gelded. Forwardly placed, wore down pacesetter, won going away. Next stop, Wickerr Stakes on July 19 at Del Mar.

DETAIN
Trainer:
Michael McCarthy
Last race: June 7, 8th
Finish: 3rd by 1 3/4
Beyer: 88
Group 1-placed European needed this comeback. Lagged midfield in N2X turf mile, angled out for room, finished evenly. Promising return, should improve second start back at Del Mar.
