Brad Free|Sep 02, 2025
Bob Baffert at CD April 27 2025

SEATTLE SURF
Trainer
: Karen Headley
Last race: Aug. 29, 2nd
Finish: 4th by 3
Beyer: 61
This 12-start older maiden ran super in $32,000 maiden-claiming sprint. Sped to lead, fast pace, led to deep stretch, tired. He can be long gone next out vs. slightly easier.

NO JOKE ANTARES
Trainer
: Sean McCarthy
Last race: Aug. 29, 5th
Finish: 2nd by 1/2
Beyer: 54
Stretching out to a mile on turf, 2-year-old Cal-bred maiden ran super despite losing ground three and four wide throughout. He will be tough with a more economical trip.

UNRIVALED TIME
Trainer: Leonard Powell
Last race: Aug. 29, 5th
Finish: 5th by 2 3/4
Beyer: 49
Debut 2-year-old bet to 5-1 in Cal-bred maiden turf mile, trailed, got stalled far turn, raced greenly in traffic, finished well, and galloped out with run in a promising debut.

TIGER IN MY TANK
Trainer: Librado Barocio
Last race: Aug. 29, 6th
Finish: 4th by 3 1/2
Beyer: 70
Speedball compromised by pace in $16,000 claiming starter. Dueled through :44.05 half, put away pace rival, collared by closers. Can wire field next out with less pace.

VODKA VODKA
Trainer: Aggie Ordonez
Last race: Aug. 30, 3rd
Finish: 7th by 2 3/4
Beyer: 74
Favorite in Cal-bred turf mile had no shot. In traffic, shuffled backstretch, difficult to handle, finished well, galloped out in front. Will be tough on Santa Anita turf in fall.

FUMANO’S MAGIC
Trainer: Val Brinkerhoff
Last race: Aug. 31, 3rd
Finish: 1st by 5 1/4
Beyer: 56
Second-start 2-year-old broke last from the rail in Cal-bred maiden-claiming sprint, regained stride, ran away. Eligible to starter and Cal-bred allowance, threat in either.

KRISTOFFERSON
Trainer: Bob Baffert
Last race: Aug. 31, 6th
Finish: 1st by 3/4
Beyer: 90
Another potential star 2-year-old from deep stable, Nyquist colt dueled though strong pace, fought back, won with big figure. The farther, the better. He could be any type.

EIFFEL
Trainer: Mike Puype
Last race: Sept. 1, 7th
Finish: 8th by 3 1/4
Beyer: 68
Favored in allowance turf mile, 3-year-old filly broke half-step slow, passively ridden, rank near rear behind slow pace, no shot. Toss this, Eiffel has more speed than shown.
