Santa Anita and Golden Gate Fields are among the tracks expected to resume racing next week, which means this might be the final Sunday that Gulfstream Park is the only game in town for Thoroughbreds. A few final shots in Florida:

Gulfstream Park race 2 (1:34 p.m. ET) – Aycapote (8) returns from a two-month freshening for solid first-off-the-claim trainer Oscar Gonzalez (22 percent first off the claim the past five years). Aycapote has run fast enough to win this $25K maiden-claiming mile; he meets dubious favorite Three Deep (3), who misfired last out. The main threat to Aycapote is dropper Apache (1). Aycapote, listed at 6-1, is worth a straight bet and exacta saver under Apache.

Gulfstream Park race 6 (3:43 p.m. ET) – A “good thing” at a likely short price, Carolyn’s Smile (2) ran fast enough finishing second in a maiden-50 last out to win this Florida-bred special weight. The race was validated. The 1-3-4 finishers all ran back and earned higher figures. Carolyn’s Smile is listed as the 5-2 second choice, but could vie for favoritism. Take the short price, or pass. This seven-furlong dash is a race Carolyn’s Smile should win.

Gulfstream Park race 8 (4:46 p.m. ET) – A price play on the front end, Create Again (4) looks like the speed of this $50K claiming mile. He drops from a fast-pace allowance, is expected to make the front, and has a shot to steal it at 10-1 on the early line.

Gulfstream Park race 10 (5:47 p.m. ET) – Bold Envoy (6) returns for excellent layoff trainer Rohan Chrichton, 6 for 10 the past five years with dirt sprinters away six months or more. Bold Envoy runs fresh; his best three races were first-time out or first start back. Chrichton optimistically employs the “no-claim waiver” in this $35,000 claiming sprint. Bold Envoy is ineligible to be claimed. Top rider up, Bold Envoy is listed at 8-1. Fair enough.
