Bout Time finds first stakes win in Goldwood
Bout Time became a stakes winner Saturday when she darted to an authoritative, 2 1/4-length win over Honey Pants in the $100,000 Goldwood at Monmouth Park.
It was another 2 3/4 lengths back in third to Robin Sparkles.
The Goldwood, which was run at about 5 1/2 furlongs on turf, was for fillies and mares.
Bout Time ($6) raced in the second flight down the backside, settled between horses as Robin Sparkles set the pace. Bout Time advanced along the rail on the turn, was angled out into the stretch, and went on to win on firm ground. She covered the distance in 1:01.01.
Angel Rodriguez was aboard for trainer Cherie DeVaux.
Bout Time is a daughter of Not This Time and a half-sister to Archidust, a multiple stakes winner of more than $500,000. Bout Time has now won 3 of 5 starts and the first-place check of $60,000 pushed her earning to $171,488.
Bout Time is owned by Belladonna Racing.
