Bourneville, Pretty Two Faced meet again in Friday feature
ETOBICOKE, Ontario – There probably isn’t much separating Bourneville and Pretty Two Faced, who are among the protagonists in Friday’s third race at Woodbine, a 1 1/16-mile route that combines Ontario-sired allowance types with $40,000 non-winners-of-three claimers.
Bourneville beat out Pretty Two Faced by a half-length for second in an identical event Oct. 12. Both made up some ground in that slow-paced contest, and Bourneville did so after a four-wide journey.
Bourneville defeated non-winners-of-two Ontario-sired allowance foes in July but wasn’t an impact player in her first turf start Sept. 1. Three weeks later, she was a much better fourth on the Polytrack, which led to her improved last race behind Mauna Kea, who subsequently finished fourth in an open allowance.
Pretty Two Faced rallied inside for second behind the classy Moonlit Beauty in an Ontario-sired allowance with no conditions Aug. 30 and then finished a distant fifth behind a streaking Strut the Course in the restricted Classy ’n Smart Stakes.
The third race lured five others, including longshot Sure Would, the lone entrant with a $40,000 claiming tag.
