Borel arrested for DUI

Hall of Fame jockey Calvin Borel is scheduled to appear in a Harrison County, Ind., court on Oct. 1 on charges of driving while intoxicated following his arrest Sunday night on his way home to Louisville after riding at Ellis Park.
Borel’s agent, Steve Krajcir, said the jockey stopped at a White Castle “for one hamburger” on exit 105 of Interstate 64 in Corydon when he was apprehended by police for making a wrong turn.
This is the second DUI incident for Borel since he became the only jockey ever to win the Kentucky Derby three times in a four-year span (2007, 2009, 2010). He was arrested near Ellis on a similar charge in August 2011.
Borel, 52, was expected to continue riding this week, including three mounts Friday at Ellis and three Saturday at Kentucky Downs.
