HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - Bordonaro won his fourth consecutive stakes on Thursday when he drove to 1 1/4-length win over Friendly Island in the Grade 3, $150,000 . It was another five lengths back to Semaphore Man in third. Bordonaro ($2.80) broke well from his outside post and dueled with Friendly Island though an opening quarter-mile in 21.70 seconds. The pair continued to lock horns through a half-mile in 44.26 seconds. Bordonaro shook free of Friendly Island near the eighth pole and went on to cover the six furlongs in 1:08.77. Pat Valenzuela rode the winner for trainer Bill Spawr. Bordonaro earned $90,000 for the win, which was his eighth from 10 career starts. He has now earned $462,164. Bordonaro races for Fred Carrillo and Daniel Cassella. Bordonaro began his winning streak in November, when he won the $50,000 California Cup Starter Sprint Handicap at Santa Anita. From there, he captured the Grade 3 Underwood at Hollywood Park and the $300,000 Sunshine Millions Sprint at Gulfstream Park.
