Book’em Danno looks sharp with debut win in Smoke Glacken Stakes

Book’em Danno backed up an impressive debut win with a stakes victory Saturday, when he darted to a two-length victory over Sea Streak in the $100,000 Smoke Glacken at Monmouth Park.
It was another 8 3/4 lengths back in third to Ship to Shore.
The race was for 2-year-olds at six furlongs.
Book’em Danno ($2.80) stalked the pace as Shea D World moved to the lead and took the field through an opening quarter in 22.66 seconds. Sea Streak moved to the fore through a half-mile in 46.90 as Book’em Danno moved up quickly on the turn and swept to the lead into the stretch. He went on to cover the distance on a fast track in 1:10.86.
Samuel Marin was aboard for trainer Derek Ryan.
Book’em Danno entered the Smoke Glacken off a 9 1/2-length win in a maiden special weight for New Jersey-breds on Aug. 12 at Monmouth. He earned a Beyer Speed Figure of 75.
Book’em Danno is a son of Bucchero owned by Atlantic Six Racing. He is a half-brother to multiple stakes winner Girl Trouble.
