Bomb Cyclone rolls by two lengths in Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity
CYPRESS, Calif. - At the last opportunity, Bomb Cyclone prevailed in a major futurity in 2021.
Sunday at Los Alamitos, Bomb Cyclone justified his role as an even-money favorite with an impressive two-length win in the $2,036,825 Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity.
The Two Million Futurity was the last of the track’s three seven-figure futurities this year.
Bomb Cyclone, ridden by Eduardo Nicasio, broke sharply from the inside post in a field of nine, and was quickly in front. Bomb Cyclone led by 1 1/2 lengths midway through the 400-yard race and finished in 19.51 seconds.

Bomb Cyclone, by Favorite Cartel, has won 3 of 5 starts and earned $853,887. Purchased for $215,000 as a yearling, Bomb Cyclone is a full brother to the millionaire and multiple stakes winner Powerful Favorite, who was fifth in Saturday’s $600,000 Champion of Champions at Los Alamitos.
Earlier this year, Bomb Cyclone was based with O’Dell at Ruidoso Downs where he won his debut in a maiden race in June but struggled in time trials later in the summer. Bomb Cyclone was second in a division of the Rainbow Futurity trials in July and a troubled fifth in a division of the All American Futurity trials in August.
Bomb Cyclone did not race again until his trial race win for the Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity.
