HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Trainer Donnie Von Hemel will attempt to win the Grade 3 Razorback Handicap for the fourth time next Saturday at Oaklawn Park when he saddles the well-bred Bolzy.

The $600,000 race is one of four stakes scheduled to be run on a card led by the Grade 2, $1.25 million Rebel.

Bolzy is a son of Gun Runner and the Grade 3-winning millionaire She’s All In. He will be making his stakes debut after a Jan. 28 allowance win at the Razorback’s 1 1/16-mile distance. Bolzy popped a career-high Beyer Speed Figure of 96.

“It was a very professional race,” Von Hemel said. “He got position and waited until he needed to make a move, got out and made his move, and went about his business down the lane.”

Robert Zoellner bred and owns Bolzy, who is a half-brother to six-time stakes winner She’s All Wolfe.

Von Hemel won the Razorback in 2001 and 2002 with Mr Ross, then again in 2012 with Alternation. His father, Don Von Hemel, won the 1997 Razorback with No Spend No Glow.

Other stakes to be run next Saturday include the Grade 3, $400,000 Honeybee, which carries Kentucky Oaks points on a scale of 50-25-15-10-5. The unbeaten Midshipman’s Dance, who captured last month’s Mockingbird, will make her two-turn debut in the race, according to trainer Robertino Diodoro. Her dam, Sticks Wondergirl, is a past winner of the Grade 3 Remington Park Oaks.

In Just My Heels is possible for the Honeybee, trainer Ron Moquett said. Her dam, High Heels, is a past winner of the Grade 2 Fantasy at Oaklawn. In Just My Heels won a maiden special weight over 1 1/16 miles in impressive fashion in her third career start Feb. 2.

“We knew she could run,” Moquett said. “She just had to put it all together. It was nice to see her put it together.”

Rebel candidate Just Steel worked six furlongs in 1:15 on Thursday. He is coming off a runner-up finish in the Southwest. Other candidates for the Rebel include Grade 1 winner Timberlake. The race offers Kentucky Derby points (50-25-15-10-5).

The fourth stakes on the card is the $150,000 Carousel.
