◗ The most-expensive 2-year-old sold at auction this year is moving closer to a start. The colt, by Curlin out of Achieving, has yet to be named, but he worked a half-mile on Tuesday in 47 seconds, equaling the best of the morning among 40 at the distance. He was purchased for $3.65 million by Coolmore’s M.V. Magnier at the Fasig-Tipton sale at Gulfstream Park, and is trained by Bob Baffert.
