Boldor outruns Seven Nation Army in King Cotton Stakes

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - Boldor came rolling down the center of the track to win the $150,000 King Cotton by a length over Seven Nation Army on Saturday at Oaklawn Park.
It was another neck back in third to pacesetter Mr. Jagermeister.
The King Cotton was the start of the sprint series for older horses at Oaklawn. It continues with the Hot Springs and the Count Fleet Sprint Handicap, with the latter races intended targets for champion Whitmore.
Boldor ($21.60) was content to stalk the pace Saturday as Mr. Jagermeister zipped to the lead and took the field through fractions of 22.52 seconds for the opening quarter and 45.78 for the half-mile, with Seven Nation Army in close pursuit. Bolder advanced on the turn, was angled out in the stretch and went on to cover six furlongs in the slop in 1:09.86.
