Bold Chieftain sires first winner

Bold Chieftain, a multiple stakes winner and popular runner in Northern California, sired his first winner when the 2-year-old gelding I Came to Party won a one-mile maiden-claiming race at Los Alamitos on Dec. 20 in his fourth start. Bold Chieftain entered stud in 2012 and stands at Victory Rose Thoroughbreds in Vacaville, Calif., for a fee of $3,000.

A son of Chief Seattle out of the Seattle Dancer mare Hooked On Music, Bold Chieftain won 18 of 47 starts and earned $1,683,181 while winning 14 stakes races, including the Grade 2 San Francisco Mile Stakes, the California Cup Classic Handicap twice, the California Dreamin’ Handicap twice, the Sunshine Millions Classic Stakes, and the Bay Meadows Handicap.

He has 18 foals in his first crop, with six starters. He has a total of 44 foals in his first three crops.
