Bohemian Bo, Kantex grab first stakes wins in Nodouble, Downthedustyroad

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Bohemian Bo and Kantex both became stakes winners Saturday, when taking separate Arkansas-bred stakes at Oaklawn Park.
Bohemian Bo led throughout to win the $150,000 Nodouble Breeders' Stakes and Kantex shuttled up the rail to capture the $150,000 Downthedustyroad Breeders' Stakes.
The races were for 3-year-olds and up bred in Arkansas, with the Downthedustyroad restricted to fillies and mares. Each race was run over six furlongs.

Bohemian Bo ($6.20) set fractions of 22.34 seconds for the opening quarter and 45.69 for the half-mile before going on to cover the distance on a fast track in 1:09.98.
Cristian Torres was aboard for trainer Tommy Vance.
Bohemian Bo won by a 1 1/2 lengths over Willow Creek Road, while it was another head back in third to Lochmoor.
Bohemian Bo is a son of Gentlemen’s Bet who races for Michael and Linda Mazoch. He has now won 4 of 12 starts for earnings of $333,067.
Kantex ($4.40) settled off the pace as Connie K set contested fractions of 21.92 seconds for the opening quarter and 45.70 for the half-mile. Kantex came up the rail through the stretch, and covered the distance in 1:11.64. She won by a neck over a charging Mozingo, while it was another three-quarters of a length over Connie K.
Rafael Bejarano was aboard Kantex for trainer Randy Morse.
Morse also co-bred and co-owns Kantex with Randy Patterson. She is by Street Strategy. She has now won 5 of 10 starts for earnings of $356,835.
