Blowout debut winners clash in Sunday allowance
HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Sweet Victory and Conquest Bebop, each a winner of her only start, likely will vie for favoritism in Sunday’s eighth race, an entry-level allowance at 1 1/16 miles on the turf for 3-year-old fillies.
Sweet Victory led throughout en route to a 6 1/4-length victory at Gulfstream Park West two months ago. Conquest Bebop drew off to a 7 1/4-length win last fall over the synthetic surface at Woodbine.
Sweet Victory and Conquest Bebop are two of eight last-out winners in a field that also includes the stakes-tested Canadian invader Pulled the Goalie.
◗ Nominations were released for next Saturday’s Sunshine Millions card, with the main event, the $250,000 Classic, luring 15 nominees, led by defending champion Sr. Quisqueyano. Other notable nominees for the Classic include Catholic Cowboy, who finished third in the race a year ago, Mr. Jordan, Reporting Star, Saraguaro, and Wildcat Red.
