Bloomin Perfect beats the boys in Gold Rush Futurity

Bloomin Perfect defeated male rivals Sunday at Arapahoe Park when she led throughout for a 2 3/4-length win in the $50,000 Gold Rush Futurity.
The race was one of four closing-day stakes on the card.
Bloomin Perfect ($8.40) set fractions of 21.56 seconds for the opening quarter and 44.49 for the half-mile before going on to win the six-furlong race run on a fast track in 1:11.62. Collusionist finished second, while it was another three-quarters of a length back to My Leap of Faith in third.
Scott Stevens rode Bloomin Perfect for owners Sarah Oliver and Doug Oilver and trainer Kim Oliver. The filly is by Majesticperfection and was bred in Colorado by Lyle Oliver and Doug Oliver.
Bloomin Perfect has now won three of four starts. She came into the Gold Rush – which last year was worth $100,000 – off a five-length victory in the Arapahoe Park Debutante. She also won her debut at the Colorado track, in a maiden special weight in June.
* Dugaboy Brown ($22.60) accounted for the $30,000 Arapahoe Park Classic, winning by three-quarters of a length over Dewey. The winner covered the 1 1/8 miles on a fast track in 1:52.37. Karlo Lopez was aboard the son of Big Brown for Annette Bishop and trainer Kenneth Gleason.
* Tyson Gay ($3) led throughout for a three-quarter-length win in the $115,300 Mile High Futurity for Quarter Horses. He covered 400 yards on a fast track in 19.61 seconds.
* Walcott ($10.80) was a wire-to-wire winner of the $65,235 Mile High Derby, winning the race for Quarter Horses by a half-length. He covered 400 yards in 19.90 seconds.
