Blood Money remained unbeaten in four starts when he edged San Lorenzeaux by a head in the $826,620 Lee Berwick Futurity for Quarter Horses on Saturday at Delta Downs. The Lee Berwick was richest of seven Louisiana-bred stakes on the annual Louisiana Showcase card, which closed out Delta’s meet for Quarter Horses. Blood Money, who was the fastest qualifier for the Lee Berwick, on Saturday covered 350 yards on a fast track in 17.29. He returned $3.40. He launched his career in a May 22 trial for the $346,000 Louisiana Laddie and after the winning debut accounted for the finale June 12. Blood Money proceeded to win his July 10 trial for the Lee Berwick by more than four lengths before his popular win in the finale Saturday.   Sir Louisiana Dash ($46.60) was a neck winner over favorite Fast Dashin Diamond in the $203,122 Delta Downs Louisiana-bred Derby. Grade 2 winner Apollitical B Snow ($3.40) was a length winner over Lifeinthefastlanes in the $75,000 Louisiana Classic. Delta opens its Thoroughbred meet Oct. 13. The track will have a first post of 12:55 p.m. Central on Wednesdays and Thursdays and 5:55 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Delta has spent its last two meets without a track lighting system, which was damaged  in a hurricane. The first new light pole was recently put up, according to Chris Warren, director of racing for Boyd Gaming’s properties in Louisiana.
