Bleecker Street sidelined indefinitely

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Bleecker Street, among the leaders of the filly and mare turf division, is sidelined indefinitely with a physical issue, trainer Chad Brown said Monday.
Brown said Bleecker Street did not come out of her third-place finish in the Grade 1 Diana well and has been sent to Kentucky to be evaluated.
“She’s going to be out of training for the time being,” Brown said.
Bleecker Street, a daughter of Quality Road owned by Peter Brant, had won her first seven starts before finishing third behind stablemates In Italian and Technical Analysis in the Diana here on July 16. This year, Bleecker Street went 5 for 6, including four stakes victories capped by the Grade 1 New York Stakes at Belmont Park on June 10.
Bleecker Street’s other stakes victories are the Grade 3 Endeavour and Grade 2 Hillsborough at Tampa Bay Downs and the Grade 3 Modesty at Churchill Downs.

Brown is still finalizing plans for his other Diana runners, though he is considering sending Rougir to Churchill Downs for the Beverly D. on Aug. 13.
