Bisping notches second straight stakes triumph with 'Shine' Young

Bisping won his second consecutive stakes race Saturday night when he darted to a three-quarter-length victory over The Boss Soss in the $60,000 colts and geldings division of the D.S. “Shine” Young Memorial Futurity at Evangeline Downs.
It was another 3 1/4 lengths back in third to Kajun Karma.
The “Shine” Young was for 2-year-old colts and geldings bred in Louisiana. It closed out the meet at Evangeline.
Bisping ($3.20) was the 3-5 favorite one start after his victory in the Louisiana Cup Juvenile at Louisiana Downs. He was prominent throughout Saturday, pushing Easy Chance through an opening quarter in 22.18. Bisping took over soon afterwards, and following a half-mile in 45.89 proceeded to cover 5 1/2 furlongs on a fast track in 1:05.59.
Devin Magnon was aboard for trainer Ricky Courville.
Bisping is a son of El Deal who races for Anna Guillot. He is named for the champion MMA fighter Michael Bisping.
Bisping won his debut May 19, in a maiden special weight at Evangeline Downs. From there, he was sixth in the Tremont at Belmont Park before returning home to take the Louisiana Cup Juvenile.
Bisping is now 3 for 4 for earnings of $94,050.
