Bingham cruises in Cotton Fitzsimmons

Bingham dominated Saturday's $75,000 Cotton Fitzsimmons Handicap at Turf Paradise.

Owned by Dennis Weir and trained by Kevin Lewis, Bingham, a 4-year-old son of Kentucky Derby winner Monarchos, stalked the pace in the mile turf event, took over into the lane, and drew clear to win by three lengths under Glenn Corbett. Highland Games rallied to be second, while Canard came from last in the field of nine to get third. Majestic Diamond, a well-regarded Southern California invader, sat back, made a run into the lane, but flattened out to finish seventh.

She's Sensational takes Glendale

She's Sensational was last early but put in a strong rally to capture the $50,000 Glendale Handicap at 1 1/16 miles on the turf. Owned by La Canada Stables and trained by John Martin, the 5-year-old daughter of Point Given was ridden by Kyle Kaenel. Star of Whitney, the 6-5 favorite, rallied smartly from well back to take the lead in midstretch and finished a clear second. Double Dip finished third in the field of six.
