Big World turns in bullet work, eyes Spinster Stakes

Barbara D. Livingston Florent Geroux takes Big World wire to wire in the Grade 1 La Troienne on Friday.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Big World fired a bullet work Monday at Churchill Downs when going five furlongs in 59 seconds, but trainer Tom Amoss isn’t yet committing the Louisiana-bred filly to the Grade 1 Spinster on Oct. 8 at Keeneland.
“We’re going to evaluate the probables,” said Amoss.
Big World, the winner of the Grade 1 La Troienne here in May, went two months without a workout following her most recent race July 15. She is one of a handful of local prospects for the 1 1/8-mile Spinster, along with Romantic Vision, Blue Prize, and Tiger Moth, the top three finishers in the Sept. 16 Locust Grove at Churchill.
