BH Lisas Boy retired with knee injury

BH Lisas Boy, one of the leading older Quarter Horses in recent years, has been retired because of a minor knee injury, owner and trainer Bill Hoburg said earlier this week.
The injury will not require surgery. It was detected after BH Lisas Boy worked 220 yards in 12.60 seconds on Saturday, Hoburg said. BH Lisas Boy was sidelined with a knee injury in 2017.
An 8-year-old gelding bred by Hoburg in Idaho, BH Lisas Boy won 23 of 43 starts and earned $963,053.

BH Lisas Boy won 14 stakes in a career that spanned from June 2014 at Les Bois Park in Boise, Idaho, to December at Los Alamitos in Southern California.
BH Lisas Boy has his best season by earnings in 2018, winning 4 of 9 starts and $305,214. The season was highlighted by victories in the Brad McKinzie Los Alamitos Winter Championship and the AQHA Challenge Championship. BH Lisas Boy was third in the $600,000 Champion of Champions in his final start that year.
In 2019, BH Lisas Boy won 3 of 7 starts and earned $205,391 in a season that included consecutive stakes wins in the California Challenge Championship in August, the Go Man Go Handicap in September, and the Los Alamitos Championship in October.
