Beyer Speed Figures for 2013 turf races adjusted slightly

The Beyer Speed Figures for grass races in 2013 have undergone a small adjustment. At many tracks, all turf figures have been increased by one point.

The changes are a result of a review by Andrew Beyer and his partner Mark Hopkins to insure that figures at different tracks are properly aligned with each other and that current figures are in line with those of the past. A figure of 90 in 2013 should be equivalent to a figure of 90 earned in 1992, the year the Beyer Speed Figures debuted in Daily Racing Form .

Pars for all turf tracks also were updated as part of the review.

After the adjustments, the best turf figure of the year belongs to the sprinter Good Deed, who earned a 110 at Churchill Downs in June. Point of Entry earned a 109 in the Gulfstream Park Turf Handicap.
