Beulah Park: Uptown Gal wins Queen City Oaks

Uptown Gal came from just off the pace to win the $75,000 Queen City Oaks at the River Downs at Beulah Park meet Sunday.

Jockey Gabriel Lagunes kept Uptown Gal within a length of the pacesetting Blazing Bling until upper stretch. Lagunes then swung out his charge, and the Jim Rankin trainee drew off for a 5 1/4-length win.

Deniro's Saint was kept back early in the field of seven 3-year-old Ohio-bred fillies before rallying for second, 2 1/2 lengths in front of a tiring Blazing Bling in third.

Uptown Gal ran the 1 1/8 miles on a fast track in 1.53.37 and returned $7.60 to win
