Beulah Park: Needmore Flattery easily wins Royal North Stakes
GROVE CITY, Ohio – Needmore Flattery remained unbeaten against Ohio-breds when dominating a field of 3-year-old fillies in the $50,000 Royal North Stakes by four lengths at Beulah Park on Saturday.
Tim Hamm trains Needmore Flattery, and she was part of a three-horse entry with Dream Bling and Natural Bling.
Dream Bling was hustled away from the gate at the start and played the rabbit for Needmore Flattery while setting quick early fractions of 22.77 and 46.55 seconds. In midstretch, Catawba Gray briefly took the lead under Rodrigo Vergara, but Needmore Flattery charged down the middle of the track and drew off.
Needmore Flattery, ridden by Pablo Morales, ran the six furlongs over a fast track in 1:11.32. Dream Bling hung on for second, a half-length in front of Catawba Gray in third.
The entry returned $2.20 to win.
