Beulah: Diavoletto puts away early challenger to take H.B. Noonan

Diavoletto led at every call and disposed of the field of 10 Ohio-bed 3-year-olds in the $50,000 H.B. Noonan at Beulah Park on Saturday afternoon.

Jockey Rafael Hernandez rushed Diavoletto up to duel for the lead after getting pinched back at the start. Diavoletto ($2.60), trained by Mike Rone, set quick fractions while saving ground and dueling with the Ohio 2-year-old champion License to Bling, part of a two-horse Tim Hamm- trained entry. Hernandez asked Diavoletto for his best in upper stretch and he drew clear and was kept to task to win by 2 1/4 lengths.

Eyes Super Freaky finished second after stalking the pace and License to Bling tired to finish third. Diavoletto ran the six furlongs over a sloppy track in 1.11.28.
