Between the Arches brings winning habit to Will Rogers Downs

Between the Arches has more wins than all but one of her rivals Monday in the featured ninth race at Will Rogers Downs in Claremore, Okla.

Between the Arches and Diamond Legacy each has four wins. The remaining 10 horses in the gate have all won just one or two races, including the stakes-placed runners Polly Tiz and Miss Orienta and the Oaklawn Park invader Sandy Sangria.

The ninth race is a six-furlong allowance for fillies and mares bred in Oklahoma. It could produce starters for some of the upcoming stakes at Will Rogers.

But the first order of business comes Monday. Between the Arches is back with statebreds after running second in a $7,500 starter allowance March 16 at Will Rogers. The out was her first since Dec. 13, when she was a close third in a first-level allowance for Oklahoma-breds at Remington Park. Benny Landeros has the mount for trainer Brent Davidson.

Polly Tiz is making her first start at 3 after running second in last year’s $100,000 Oklahoma Classics Lassie at Remington Park. Miss Orienta was the runner-up in the $70,000 Useeit in December at Remington.
