Bethlehem Road remains unbeaten in Parx Spring Derby

Bethlehem Road improved his career record to 3 for 3 on Tuesday when he won both his two-turn and stakes debut in the $75,000 Parx Spring Derby at Parx Racing. He rolled to a 1 1/2-length win over Mount Travers, while it was another 7 1/2 lengths back in third to Fix Me a Sandwich.
The Parx Derby was a one-mile and 70-yard race for 3-year-olds.
Bethlehem Road ($4.80) was clear through fractions of 22.32 seconds for the opening quarter, 46.27 for the half-mile, and 1:11.93 for six furlongs before going on to cover the distance on a fast track in 1:44.59.
Luis Rodriguez Castro was aboard for trainer Dee Curry.
Bethlehem Road is a son of Quality Road who won a maiden special weight sprint and a conditioned allowance sprint at Parx in April in his two starts prior to the Parx Spring Derby. He has now earned $99,300 for owners Don Ameche 3d, Griffin Investments, and Randall Reed.
