Spot PlayONEANDONLYLOVEMAN (# 4, 6-1) took betting action but beat steady retreat in career debut this track last spring. Solid work pattern for class drop to $50K maiden-claiming for 2yo who cost $42K at auction. Expect big improvement.- Marcus Hersh

Vulnerable FavoriteBROWN BOSS (#6, 3-1) has shown turf ability and versatility of style. Even so, as the favorite in a spot similar to this here Oct. 12, while he made headway late, he was still a fairly well-beaten 4th (3 lengths) and one of today’s foes (Ashley’s Bambino beat him, running 3rd). He doesn’t come here with any significant class or speed figure edge and it’s his first time on this course, too. And could he have worked any slower than he did at SA Oct. 29 (5fs in 1:05.80, slowest of 12 that day), hmmmm? -Michael Hammersly

Spot PlaySPIRIT RULES (#7, 7-2) has run here just 3 times. After a nose loss in his debut here in Nov. 2011 he came back to romp by 8 1/4 lengths the next month. This spring (June 15) he came back here after a 16-month layoff to romp by 4 1/2 lengths. Obviously he loves this track and while he hasn’t run in nearly 4 months that isn’t a concern as that aforementioned June 15 came off a much longer vacation. It’s a tough spot but he’s worked as if he’s ready to come back at full strength. -Michael Hammersly

Spot PlayKAZAM (#7, 5-1) has worked long and steadily for debut & brings appealing turf-mile pedigree to bow for high-percentage 1ster barn. Thinking she will not be needing the first out. - Marcus Hersh
