Betfair Hollywood: DRF Plus handicapping report for November 17, 2013
Lightly raced 6yo BLU JON (#2, 4-1) returned from year-plus break in 6.5fs turf sprint “down the hill,” which is an okay trip for him but, based on established form, not as good as this two-turn journey. The 9th-place finish from last helps price, though he was beaten just 3 lengths.- Marcus Hersh

Spot PlaySecond-time starter YANA (#9, 8-5) should win. In her debut, she pressed a hot pace, got collared, and finished more than six clear of third. She is a standout at low odds. -Brad Free

Spot PlaySOMETHINGS UNUSUAL (#4, 3-1) won 2 starts over this course in game fashion during the spring/summer meet, so you know he likes it here. After a dull run vs. some toughies at DMR Sept. 4 he was freshened and came back to be a sharp 2nd at 37-1 at SA Nov. 1, finishing just behind Pure Loyalty, who prior to that had been facing graded stakes foes on turf. Looks as though the freshening got him back on track and again, you know he loves this place. -Michael Hammersly
Vulnerable FavoriteBROTHER PETE (#3, 5-2) finished second last out in a modest allowance for 3-year-olds, and now moves up to face older. He enters with no advantage. -Brad Free

Spot PlaySHYSHEISNOT (#3, 8-1) was stopped on during Del Mar, but steady works for debut since mid-September. Oct. 24 near-bullet over this track looks like the major work, & it’s quite encouraging. Should be fit enough to manifest ability for barn hitting 20-percent for $2.14 ROI with 1sters.- Marcus Hersh
