Race 1 Closer Looks >> Race 2 Live Longshot MIDNIGHT MAYHEM (#2, 12-1) cost mere $1.7K at auction & debuts for $50K, an automatic positive. Decently encouraging & consistent drills over the BHP all-weather surface. Outfit with favorable numbers (small sample size noted) in pertinent categories & winner at meet. Plenty to like at the price.- Marcus Hersh   Spot Play Second-time starter KE IN MOTION (#9, 7-2) can upset dropping to maiden-50. He should get a good trip sitting second behind the pacesetter. -Brad Free   Vulnerable Favorite MAXIMUS (#6, 5-2) weakened in the lane three starts, and now stretches in distance over a surface less conducive to speed. Class drop insures he will be overplayed. -Brad Free   Closer Looks >> Race 3 Closer Looks >> Race 4 Spot Play ENTERPRISING (#7, 3-1) can win this turf route after a better-than-looked seventh-place debut in a dirt sprint. She galloped out in front of the field after the wire. -Brad Free   Closer Looks >> Race 5 Closer Looks >> Race 6 Spot Play LILLY’S PERFECT (#5, 5-2) blew the start as the 5-2 favorite in a similar spot at SA Oct. 10 but to her credit kept to her task to finish 3rd, and the gal she chased home that day (Miss Well Molded) came right back to win smartly here last weekend. She has ample tactical speed so surely with a better start she’ll be in good position from the bell. Mulhall claimed her for $12,500 2 races back (Aug. 3), tried her for this price Oct. 10 (the aforementioned troubled 3rd) and KEEPS her at this same price for this assignment, which is most encouraging, as is the fact Bejarano stays put. -Michael Hammersly   Closer Looks >> Race 7 Closer Looks >> Race 8 Closer Looks >> Race 9 Spot Play Overmatched first out, SOUL SEARCHER (#10, 7-2) drops to maiden-20 for trainer Mike Mitchell, who has won with 4 of his last 9 second-time starters taking similar drops. -Brad Free   Closer Looks >>
