Spot PlayTIZ A CLASSY LASS (#5, 2-1) was superb in defeat on turf at SA Oct. 13. In her first start against winners, first start in almost 4 months and from an impossible post going a mile on turf (No. 10) she blew the start. She was still last going to the far turn but put in a super rally to finish a strong 2nd. And the gal she nearly caught (Journey On) had easily won her prior 2 starts and came right back to finish 2nd herself in the Grade 3 Autumn Miss at SA Oct. 26. It’s first time on synthetic but you’ve seen many a turf horse move to this surface and flourish. -Michael Hammersly
