Race 4	Spot Play RICSPRETENTIOUSGAL (#3, 5-2) looks well situated for a top try. After almost 2 months off she returned in a sprint on SA’s hillside course Oct. 11. Not only was she dealing with the layoff but that trip is short of her preferred game, and it came vs. some very tough gals. With that under her belt, today’s drop in class and today’s move to a longer game she prefers she looks ready be in the thick of it from the start and likely all the way to the wire. Sadler claimed her for $50K at DMR 2 races ago, Aug. 23, and while he drops her today she is in for the same price he paid, so it’s not as if they’re trying to give her away. -Michael Hammersly Spot Play HIGH JINKS (8-1) gets class relief (but not to a concerning degree), blinkers on, and return to turf in fourth try since being exported from South America. Race 7	Spot Play Second-start maiden STREET STATUS (#2, 7-2) trained well into his debut early this year, but merely ran around the track. He should return improved for trainer Marty Jones. -Brad Free Spot Play THE CLEANERS (6-1) was vastly improved in 2nd career start (hinted at by unusually sharp Oct. 13 drill) following long break, & would seem to have more room to grow. Race 9	Spot Play Second-time starter LADY OF THE NILE (#9, 7-2) gets off the dreaded Santa Anita rail and drops in class after a troubled debut. -Brad Free Vulnerable Favorite BLUES AND SILVERS (#8, 5-2) has become too fast for her own good.
