Spot PlayVEGAS STREET (#6, 10-1) was compromised by the dreaded rail post in his debut at Santa Anita. He moves to the outside for his second start. Not sure if can defeat “likely winner” FULMERIZED, but an exacta with that pair looks appealing. -Brad Free

Spot PlayMAGIC SPOT (#1, 5-1) can upset this modest maiden race for California-bred 2-year-old fillies. She was much improved her second start, and has more speed than shown. -Brad Free

Spot PlayMADRE LUNA (#6, 4-1) doesn’t drop, per se, but this spot is surely easier than what she’s been involved with in recent months. She’s been freshened by Canani, who of course is strong off the bench, and a string of good works, including a bullet :47.20 move Nov. 24, says she’s doing well. She’s run well before off the bench and has some versatility to give her rider options. -Michael Hammersly

Spot PlayPLANET SUNSHINE (#4, 5-1) gets a little odds boost because of poor last-start running line, but that was his turf debut, & it didn’t work out. Race flow (fast early & middle, it seems) should work in favor of horse with win over course.- Marcus Hersh
Vulnerable FavoriteAPPEALING TALE (#7, 3-1) earned a big number last time finishing second, but he did it setting a leisurely pace. He is unlike to get the same soft trip in this N1X route. -Brad Free
