Vulnerable FavoriteMOON RIDE (#10, 5-2) likely deserves to be favored as she tumbles in class. She faced straight maidens in her first 3, then $40K foes last time and now has her value cut in half. Surely the drop makes her the one to beat but remember, she’s yet to really be a factor at any point in her 4 starts so it’s not as if she’s shown the talent to justify what may be a short price. -Michael Hammersly

Spot PlayAt $315K, KOUKLA (#8, 3-1) is the priciest auction by from sire Northern Afleet I recall seeing. Steady work since late September, most of it not very fast (which can be a good thing), but with enough faster work to suggest filly is no dud. May have nice speed / stamina combo. - Marcus Hersh

Spot PlayAOTEAROA (#9, 5-2) was a very nice 2nd in the Grade 3 Generous on turf here to the highly promising Global View. Remember, though, he broke his maiden sprinting on synthetic (DMR) so that lends confidence to the notion he not only will like the distance cutback but the footing. And over the years you’ve seen many a turf horse move to this main track and flourish. -Michael Hammersly
