Spot PlayCHIEF LION (#2, 2-1) would look good on any surface, but he makes turf debut & is going to love grass-sprinting. - Brad Free

Vulnerable FavoritePUBLIC POLICY (#2, 7-2) has shown talent to be sure, enough to justify favoritism here. But that talent was shown sprinting, on dirt and synthetic. Today we’re routing on turf. He’s certainly bred for it and as noted, has ability, but it’s an entirely different ballgame and until he does it he’s a question mark on this ground and at this trip. -Michael Hammersly

Spot PlayAMANDA (#1, 5-2) has been burning some money, yes, with 4 straight close calls, but this may be her day to shine as she gets what she may have wanted all along – distance. After rallying well in 4 straight sprints she gets a crack at a route. The rail draw can help her save ground and it’s nice to see Talamo stays with her in a race where he likely had options. This filly showed she’s feeling good with a sharp 3f work at SA Dec. 5 (:35.60, 2nd fastest of 13 at that distance that day). -Michael Hammersly
