Spot PlayDI CONTI (#1, 6-1) is going to make the lead from the fence with any kind of break, & might prove much more capable on turf (he’s not in for tag in 1st star since Fairplex $20K mdn win; his workouts are very sharp) than his form would suggest. - Marcus Hersh

Vulnerable FavoriteFRIENDSWITH K MILL (#4, 5-2) is the one to beat as he takes the most significant drop in the game (straight maiden to maiden claiming). That being said, they don’t give anything away out here and after buying this guy at auction for $70K last spring they’re now willing to part with him for almost half that ($40K). And while his dirt debut for $75K wasn’t bad (ran 4th) it wasn’t overwhelming and his Nov. 24 try vs. straight maidens here saw him as no factor. So, even with the drop does he have the oomph to beat these, and do you want to take that risk at the expected short price? -Michael Hammersly

Spot PlayMR LEMON TREE (#2, 10-1) gets off rail for first time in three starts & gets first chance to combine what might be his two best games – sprinting & turf. - Marcus Hersh

Spot PlayRATHBAUN (#1, 5-2) chased the pace in her last start at GG Nov. 10, made a threatening move into the lane but couldn’t keep up with big winner Broken Sword. However, not only did this gal stay on well to hold 2nd but the winner came back to win the Grade 2 Bayakoa here Saturday, certainly telling you this girl chased a nice miss. Oh, and that run was flattered further as 2 who finished behind this gal that day came right back to win. Her tactical speed on the rail is a boon and she boasts 2 smart recent works over this track for Miller who continues his strong meet (2nd in the trainer standings). -Michael Hammersly
