Betfair Hollywood: Closer Looks for December 14, 2013

DRF Staff|Dec 13, 2013

Race 1

El Mirage King
Close to 2 full years since he has won but he may never got a better shot at wiring a field; he catches a pretty paceless race, has the speed to flee the fence, was on the sizzling pace down the hill two back and he was beaten less than 2 in the stakes 3 back; catch him to cash.
Hotradamus
Needs pace to run at and there is not a ton of speed in here; 7th finisher in last took a $32K claimer next out, 8th finisher took a $20K optional in Phoenix next out; have always liked this kind of a jump especially from a barn that is rolling; this rider was up for both scores; respect.
Tripski
Back at claimed level; he has trained well for this and was getting to the winner in last; 8/14 winner repeated in a $250K stakes at Presque Isle; note runner ran his eyeballs out in defeat when a head back in the $100K stake sin the summer; may like it here.
Royal F J
Zero for 14 here; note good; proven at this level but he was all out that day and has several nibbles since; capable barn due to get rolling to end the season; due to hit paydirt.
Silver Dragon
Maybe he just needed the last effort; show horse in the last win cashed twice since, the last in a $12.5K claimer; this guy may fall into a nice trip; he has flashed speed routing on grass, and he was involved till the very end in last; contention goes deep.
Circa'sgoldengear
Proven on the course, he has the two races now under the girth, and he doesn't have to be 6th early on this time; proven in this league and he sat a nice trip that day; the one concern is the will to win; check out the 10 slices. - Brian Mulligan

Race 2

Funny Gal
Seems to have settled in at this level with a decent third November 10. Probably not worth the $40,000 Puype paid for her in February, but the trainer is trying to get the most out of the Lucky Pulpit filly under the circumstances. Three works since her last is a good sign and Talamo rides back.
Lil Cheyenne
Returned from a seven-week break with a good second in a $10,000 claimer, her first start for Cliff Sise. Interesting that the trainer double jumps her after a bullet :35 3/5 drill December 8. Only victory came on Cushion Track and weight comes off with 7-pound apprentice Gonzalo Nicolas.
J K's Mischief
Lost a lot of her luster after a $40,000 starter allowance win in Pomona September 20. Was an also ran in a pair of allowance turf dashes, but should have run better with dropped into a sophomore only $25,000 claimer. Pace presser doesn't figure to see the early lead against this field.
Tribal Dress
Cleared early in a $25,000 claimer December 1 but showed little resistance when challenged midstretch and wound up fourth. Nakatani stays with her and the veteran rider may opt to take her back slightly today.
Pat's Back
Had one victory and one second in three recent starts at Golden Gate. Faced older last out, so this drop into her own age group could be considered a class drop. Joel Rosario, here to ride in the Grade I CashCall Futurity, gets the assignment. This trainer-rider team has won 28 per cent with a $2.49 ROI over the last two years.
She's a Go Girl
Edged Funny Gal for the place in a similar race November 10. Speed is always dangerous, especially when shedding six pounds. Adam Kitchingman has been quiet this meeting, but has had a memorable 2013 with 20 per cent winners. Orozco only 2-for-17 for this barn, but with a $2.66 ROI.
Economy of Motion
This will make her fifth different trainer in her last six starts. All out to defeat $8,000 claimers on the Barretts bullring September 20, then soundly beaten for the same price at Santa Anita. Can not understand why the Pleasantly Perfect filly is doubled in class.
Best by Far
Tribal Rule filly has been well supported in northern California, with her highest odds in six races $4.80-1. Seemingly takes a large class jump after an $8,000 claim November 28, but it must be noted that Vann Belvoir has an outstanding record (25 per cent, $2.09 ROI) first off a claim. Trainer is even more profitable with this rider ($3.09 ROI). - Mike Superstein

Race 3

Artic North
He skipped through some of his conditions this fall and last out in his first real marathon start he was beaten less than three lengths for everything; the race was also his stakes debut; can move forward for the out, and is bred to be a runner as a half-brother to Major Marvel, a multiple stakes winner who to date has won 22 of 52 races and $693K; like several of these, he can share.
Irish Surf
He meets older rivals after having the opportunity to stick with straight 3-year-olds in a pair of late-in-the-year derbies, between SA and BHP; the mile and a half distance would seem to be a real draw for this one, whose last win came over a mile and three-eighths; is from the multiple Grade 1-winning mare Surfside ($1.8M); could get stalking trip off Segway; another who can share.
Segway
He would seem to be the one these would have to catch as a fresh horse coming off a front-running win at a mile and a quarter; makes his graded stakes debut, and while he is meeting more experience rivals, like that he has been flattered since his last start; the horse who ran fourth to him, Soul Candy, returned in his next start to win a $25K optional claimer at BHP with a Beyer Figure of 75, and the fifth-place finisher, Little Jerry, a $40K optional claimer, also at BHP, with a Beyer of 94; dam was a stakes winner of $120K and she has produced a Group 3 winner in Slow Pace ($371K); leading contender.
Huntsville
He has class appeal as a Grade 2-placed winner and like that the stakes accomplishment came in a turf marathon; picks up more ground here on the move from a mile and a sixteenth to a mile and a half, and form suggests he will make good use of the added real estate; looking for him to be closer to the pace on account of the distance move; can share.
Temeraine
He's one of the most accomplished members of the field as a Grade 3 winner, and note the score came at this mile and a half trip at KD; the performance points him out as a chief player in this spot; caught yielding ground last out in the Grade 1 Canadian International, and perhaps he was not fond of the footing; dam was a two-time stakes winner who has produced a Group 1 winner in South Africa in Overarching ($83K), and a stakes winner in Dead Red ($247K); can get the jump on Lucayan; choice.
Lucayan (FR)
He was a Group 1 winner last year at Longchamp, and as such $509K earner is the most accomplished member of the field; has been a consistent sort as a rule, so the off-the-board finish in the Canadian International last out at WO seems like a toss-out race; perhaps he did not care for the yielding ground; one start prior, he was a good third in the Grade 2 John Henry at SA; a concern here is whether he will get the pace setup he needs to fuel his closing kick; class runner is a win candidate, nonetheless. - Mary Rampellini

Race 4

Traweek
Two of his victories were at Santa Anita, including a determined win in a $16,000 non-winners of three lifetime October 24. Zero for five on the Cushion and overall winless in 10 starts on synthetic tracks. The race came up tough for the class and will really have to hustle from the rail.
Zuboff
This race almost looks as if it was written for him. Dropped into a $12,500 claimer for the first time November 29, won at 9-1 and gained eligibility to this starter allowance. Now three for four on Cushion Track and returns in just 15 days for red-hot trainer Peter Miller. Major factor.
Dunmore East
Prompt favorite November 24 in a weak $10,000 non-winners of a race in 2013. That was the Honor and Glory gelding's first try on Cushion Track. Had gone 14 starts without a victory before that. Steps up in class, but his Beyer figures make him a threat right back and he gets an elite pilot in Rosario.
Apollo Ten
Been tackling much better recently, but since he competed in $12,500 maiden claiming races earlier in his career, the Tenpins gelding is eligible for this starter allowance. Last victory came on Cushion Track June 21 in a California bred first level allowance. Pender is solid moving from route to sprint (15 per cent, $2.25 ROI).
Would You
Claimed for $20,000 by Phil D'Amato, longtime assistant trainer to Mike Mitchell. Ran once for $12,500 at Oaklawn Park, meaning eligibility for this starter allowance transfered over with the claim. Had routed exclusively the last two years, but his last indicates he may be better as a late-running sprinter.
Toledo Eddie
Hasn't been risked for a tag since being claimed for $20,000 by Craig Dollase May 4. Though he's facing softer, the Ministers Wild Cat gelding is still protected in this starter allowance. Given a two month breather and is reunited with Rafael Bejarano. Main drawback is that all five victories have been on dirt.
Husband's Folly
Three wins from 21 starts and the victories were well spaced. Two of his wins were on turf and the other on Cushion Track. Been competing in grass routes lately and this trainer is below average in both turf-to-synthetic (9 per cent, $0.80 ROI) and route-to-sprint (11 per cent, $0.84 ROI).
City Chapel
Consistent form this year in northern California (15 3-4-4) and his ratings have been on the upswing. Should love this distance and he hails from one of the top barns (Victor Trujillo) in the Bay Area. Right style for the race and the price should be right.
Senator Bob
Built up a big early lead then dug in gamely to just miss November 30. That was his first try for $12,500, giving him a license to run in this starter allowance. Last two victories were around two turns, but the Skimming gelding is a capable sprinter, as well. - Mike Superstein

Race 5

Divine Way
Devine Park has been a poor influence as a turf sire and this filly is going to need to improve over what she showed in her turf debut in order to get the better of this field; note that this will be the first time that she's experienced breaking from the rail post.
Among the Stars
From a small sample, sire has won with 8% of his turf starters, and dam won once from 11 starts for 12k, and she didn't make a turf start; this filly is a 1/2 to Touch the Sun (8-33, 84k, including 1 of 9 turf starts for 18k); winner from debut won next out here on 12/7 going 1 1/16m in a G1 with an 81 Beyer.
Sheza Smoke Show
Sire wins with approximately 12% of his turf starters and stakes winning dam won 3 of 11 starts for 182k, and she didn't make a start over turf; this miss is a 1/2 to Bonita Blue (2-12, 109k, including 1 of 9 turf starts for 65k).
Midnight Dream
Sire wins with approximately 13% of his turf starters and dam was winless from five starts, including one turf start; have to respect the early speed she showed after being well backed at first asking and Garcia has won with 15 of 33 (45%) mounts for this barn at the current meeting.
Run Rosie Run
Sire wins with approximately 11% of his first-time starters and he's 0-for-1 with his turf starters, and minor stakes placed dam won 4 of 16 starts for 161k, including 0-for-2 over turf; this filly is a 1/2 to Await (7-30, 48k, including 2 of 14 turf starts for 13k).
Tiffany's Honour
Sire wins with approximately 8% of his first-time starters and with approximately 15% of his turf starters, and G2 winning dam won 2 of 8 starts for 250k, and she didn't make a turf start; this miss is a 1/2 to G1 winner Jazil (2-11, 890k, including 0-for-1 over turf), multiple G1 winner Rags to Riches (5-7, $1.3 million, no turf starts), G2 winner Casino Dance (4-11, 904k) and stakes winner Man of Iron (4-18, 336k).
Scene Queen
Sire wins with approximately 10% of his first-time starters and with approximately 15% of his turf starters, and dam was winless from three starts, including one turf start; this is a capable first-out barn, and she has turf in her pedigree, but she might be looking for more distance down the road.
Parade Bound
Sire is 0-for-3 with his turf starters and dam won 4 of 19 starts for 121k, including 2 of 11 turf starts for 73k; it certainly looks like they tried to tighten the screws in her latest workout.
As Rulers Go
Sire wins with approximately 10% of his turf starters and G3 winning dam won 9 of 19 starts for 399k, including 5 of 7 turf starts for 312k; this filly is a 1/2 to multiple G1 winner Switch (6-24, $1.4 million, including 0-for-1 over turf).
Salsita
She looks like a legitimate player in this spot and her turf debut in her latest outing was an oddly run turf sprint that started slow and finished fast; going to look for her to be involved in the running throughout.
Sierra Electrica
Like what she did sprinting over this turf course in her career debut, and if her recent workouts are any indication, then she might be ready to return to action running while making her first start for this barn and her first start wearing blinkers.
Faith Hope Love
Sire wins with approximately 11% of his first-time starters and with approximately 6% of his turf starters, and dam won 3 of 10 starts for 20k, and she didn't make a turf start; tough to ignore what this barn has been doing with first-time starters and the presence of Bejarano can be viewed as a positive indicator. - Brian Pochman

Race 6

Ice Cream Truck
Unlucky gelding will have to overcome the rail slot in this bulky field today but if he can improve upon his last performance, he is a legitimate threat; latest workout at five-eighths should have him pointed in the right direction.
Street Status
Raced evenly in his comeback effort, a race which was above average in overall quality; his sire won multiple G1s and 831K while the dam lost her only attempt; winning siblings include 237K earner Toro Bonito.
Good Company
Nowhere in that maiden voyage on the turf but the surface and distance switch can do wonders; his sire won multiple G2s and 1.73 million; the dam was unraced; there were no winning siblings to mention.
Sofos Quick Logic
Rested since being compromised by a wide post and trip in his July getaway (which turned out to be a key race); returning workout is far and he maintains the same apprentice; might be able to stay within range here and land a share.
Deception Free
Could be a classic case of the third start off the bench angle; cuts back from seven furlongs, a race where he lost significant ground when facing 13 opponents; legitimate money chances if the early fractions are not severe.
Intoclassymischief
This grey makes his first start for a tag although he was clearly beaten by Street Status a month ago; in the 3 prior events, he showed better early speed than most of his foes today and is worth some follow-up today as the price should be square.
Gray Satin
Improved with the blinker addition 2 back and then was jammed up in a speed duel in his latest assignment; some workouts since that defeat are upobeat but he remains a question mark at this more demanding distance.
El Pinto
Newcomer was sired by Lucky Pulpit who amassed 209K and whose offspring have won 7 out of 60 initial attempts; the dam won 2 of 19 and 97K; among the winning siblings is 158K earner Comedy Girl.
Senor Pegasus
Sheds the shades for his first start in more than 2 months; may revert to the running style of his initial effort when rallying slightly off the leaders; draws the type of post position which will help towards that end; consider.
Salt of the Earth
Yet to finish in the money although he was in dire need of the last outing when breaking slowly; appears to require at least another tightener before moving forward; cannot endorse for the top spot at this time.
Handsome Sam
Going back to blinks did not help in his last try when he had a troubled start; flashed good gate speed in the previous run and note 2 of his last 3 ventures have been against repeat winners; subtle longshot.
Cuneo
Although retreating in his last effort, the grey was involved in a multiple speed duel that day; freshened since that performance, he turned in some upbeat workouts thereafter and can relax off the front-running crew now; do not overlook.
Swiss Sword
Hard to endorse as he has shown little in the way of endurance regardless of surface or distance; likely to be forced wide in the early running, it seems doubtful he can overcome such a trip and be a major contender.
Sweetdreamscometru
Nothing to write home about thus far and even though he gets in with the proverbial feather, it may not matter; might have been hurt by the rail slot in the latest run but today's post is no bargain either; pass.
Slight Edge
Woke up with a fair placing last month after running into a blowout winner the time before; familiarity with breaking from extra-wide posts should help his cause here if he can escape AE imprisonment; worth some trifecta play if that is the case.
Starry Shark
Got away unpressured 2 back and still tired in the final furlong; there were soft fractions in that defeat and even with the blinker addition this afternoon, he will have a tough time obtaining any striking position; wait until another day. - Jim Kachulis

Race 7

Blueskiesnrainbows
July, 2012, performance is a field-best Beyer when a Grade 2 stakes winner over today's BHP synthetic surface at today's distance; his last 4 wins were when he raced 1st at the 1st call then kept on going; the last time he made the lead 3-back was his stakes win on dirt at today's distance; looms a lot more dangerous rivals if makes the top.
Fire With Fire
Clearly his grass record is superior to racing on any other surface; his last win was on the lead in August but has been unable to show that kind of gate speed in recent losses and Blueskiesnrainbows who handled him 3-back is here and is the one to catch; is ranked a notch below the top contenders.
Slim Shadey (GB)
Tough spot to make his 1st-ever synthetic-surface start; mild worktab at DMR on an all-weather strip so the new surface is a huge concern; the 2-back runner-up finisher Beyered 93 in his next-out DMR-G2 score; likes to be forwardly placed but so does Blueskiesnrainbows.
Setsuko
Gets a good-closer's setup with strong-inside gate speed signed on for this; Grade 2-placed on BHP synthetic he broke his maiden here December, 2009, in a shorter 8.5F event; long absence for a 6%-win trainer with this angle; beat the 4th and 8th-place finishers from last they Beyered 96-93 in next-out SA-allowance and optional-claiming wins; scary if ready; the one to beat.
Drill
Has never raced 9F during career but style suggests the added yardage is well within his scope; solid-win record on synthetic noting his best Beyer over this type of oval was at 7F; main concern is he hasn't won since May, 2012, and that was over the track sprinting.
Soi Phet
Expected a lot more run in latest coming off the 2-back loss vs. the winner who Beyered 112 when taking the Breeders' Cup Classic; won his first 4 races off the claim but seems to be shooting high again vs. stakes company; likes to be fowardly placed in a race with Blueskiesnrainbows and other speedsters.
Mobilized
Owns his career-best Beyer on BHP synthetic at 1.5F shorter than this; is 0-for-3 in races at 9F during career; the only race traveling this far on synthetic was a BHP-5th-place finish in a 150K event; being winless since April, 2012, does not help the confidence level stretching back out.
Rousing Sermon
Toss his April-troubled trip loss on synthetic and the form is rock solid; scored nicely in last racing on today's oval and hopes that 9F is within his scope noting he was outfinished here in June; figures for a super trip stalking the inside speed; the pick.
Hear the Ghost
Never been this far but with just 4 career races has plenty of upside still; beat the debut show finisher on today's surface he won his next 3 races including a 71K stakes with 109-98-91 Beyers; worked bullets over the track for this after prepping in defeat going short. - Art Gropper

Race 8

Valtari
He's run well in both of his starts since being placed over turf, and even though he's meeting up with winners for the first time, he does have some upside to consider with only three starts behind him; he's out of a G2 winning dam who won 4 of 23 starts for 251k, including 0-for-3 over turf.
Spring Up
The move to turf has agreed with this colt and he shares the best last race Beyer Speed Figure in here with Boyett; he's shown the ability to adapt to any early pace scenario and he figures to be able to manage a comfortable trip after breaking from an inside post.
Uncle Dick
This colt has a good deal of turf in his pedigree and he has a number of turf starts on his card that are strong enough to suggest that he can be competitive against these; going to look for him to be ready to give a good account of himself while making his second start back from a layoff.
Midnight Casanova
Sire wins with approximately 13% of his turf starters and stakes placed dam won 3 of 11 starts for 107k, and she didn't make a turf start; interesting to see his new connections go right to turf with him but this looks like a tough spot for him to meet up with winners after getting the better of a field of 20-18k MCL's.
Power Ped
Full brother to Power Foot (2-12, 119k over turf) sports improved recent form, but he was beaten by today's rival Spring Up in his latest start, and he will need to produce his best performance to date to get the better of this field.
Boyett
It might be worth noting the presence of Bejarano aboard another in here, but like to see what this gelding has done since moving into this barn and being placed over turf; he loses nothing with Rosario taking over, and he shares the best last race Beyer Speed Figure in here with Spring Up.
Usbek Thunder (BRZ)
He showed improvement in his second start in America while getting back over turf and this will be the first time that he's raced wearing blinkers; he's still a little bit of an X-factor and not yet willing to count out the possibility of him having more to show us.
Cervaro
Improving 3-year-old made it look easy against seven rivals when breaking his maiden in his latest start and it looks like Bejarano may have had other options to consider in here and sticks with this one; he's out of a multiple stakes winning dam who won 6 of 11 starts for 246k, including 2 of 3 turf starts for 72k; Bejarano has won with 30 of 98 (31%) mounts for this barn in 2013.
Sumerian
Have a lot of respect for Street Cry as a turf sire and this gelding is eligible to get himself into the mix with these if he feels up to one of his better performances; it looks like he's trained well in preparation for his first start since the end of October, and this barn can be live with a fresh horse.
Bench Light
He's been a pretty consistent performer and he's one of just two horses in here who can boast of having four wins next to his name; he deserves to be listed among the contenders and he might be ready for his best performance to date after a fine effort after a layoff while wearing blinkers for the first time. - Brian Pochman

Race 9

Electric Eddie
Maiden tries winners after proving he belongs with some of these in his first local spin last month; he's returned to work well at his Santa Anita base and he's to be pretty well suited to the route; appears capable of again getting in the exotics mix.
Tamarando
Late runner got back on track in the Real Quiet when switched to Bejarano and his drill last week suggests the effort didn't take a whole lot out of him; there's not a lot of early lick in here and his style could encounter some traffic issues in a full field, but he's one to fear late.
Bond Holder
He wasn't beaten much on Breeders Cup Day after breaking his maiden in a G1 stakes heat; he ran ok on synthetic footing during the summer and he worked well over the local main track last week; improving colt should again be doing his better running late.
Candy Boy
Ran away from an overmatched field to break his maiden first time over the local main track; he's returned to work like he's got more in him but this is a tougher bunch and one of the bigger guys in here beat him handily 2 back at Santa Anita.
Tap It Rich
Gray was super impressive breaking his maiden first out at Santa Anita and wasn't beaten much despite the wide run in the Breeders Cup Juvenile; 510K yearling buy has been working long on dirt for his initial synthetic spin and the hot Baffert outfit hits at a nice clip with runners moving to this type of footing; lightly raced colt looms the main danger.
Shared Belief
No one's been close to him in his 2 sprint starts and he earned a freakish number from a pressing start in the G3 Prevue in his local debut here last month; he's kin to a couple of route winners including G3 SW and 217K earner Little Miss Holly so the added trip should agree with him and there's not a whole bunch of lick in here so it wouldn't be a surprise to see them push him to make the top; with some sharp interim drills in tow it looks as if they'll have to come and get him to win.
Even Echo
Maiden hasn't hit the board in any of his 6 starts while finishing well behind several of these in some of those tries; longshot looks to be in well over his head today and it's tough to make any type of case for him.
Brother Soldier
Showed some speed in a wide path while making his first start over the local main track but offered little thereafter behind a couple of the guys he'll catch again in this spot; he did return to work a solid 5/8s here last week and is kin to 2 route winners so maybe the added trip agrees with him; still, he's got plenty of improving to do in order to step here; have to pass on him.
Karma King
Removes the hood after getting run down by a couple of these in the Real Quiet while making his first route start; maybe the equipment change allows him to settle early but he still figures to find a spot near the lead and he could well improve second time going long.
Poker Player
Deep closer took a Keeneland stake in his lone synthetic start before making little impact against turfers on Breeders Cup Day; return to this footing may help, but he could well find himself with a lot to do late and the fractions may not be too beneficial to him.
Sheikinator
Ran down a moderate clip in breaking his maiden on the Churchill dirt; colt ran ok on synthetic footing first out at Keeneland and with just a couple of starts under his belt he does have a right to get better; price will be much better in his stakes debut but he'll need to take a good step forward.
Rankhasprivileges
Didn't have enough late while rallying in a wide spot in his stakes debut last time and now he'll get back to synthetic footing; like the off the pace run he made to take his Keeneland debut but he's another who would appreciate some pace help in front of him while breaking from this tough slot.
Kobe's Back
Gray was a good thing in stakes company when rallying from well out of it following a tough break to score in his debut run; another tough start did him in while trying graded stakes foes at one turn here last month but he was able to split a couple of guys who will return here as well; draws a difficult starting spot and Bejarano opts elsewhere, but he'll get a top replacement pilot and he is kin to a route winner as well as G3 SW sprinter and 351K earner Well Spelled so he certainly has a right to get better; can't be overlooked at an improved price. - Steve Grabowski

Race 10

Filli Vanilli
Good Journey 4 for 31 with juvenile firsters, 9 for 45 with first-time turfers; sire didn t run at 2, was turf only, banked over $1.7 million; foaled on Feb. 11, this miss is out of an unraced dam that dropped 6 foals, 4 won, none at 2, one was a triple winner on grass; she looks fit enough.
Top Pegasus
Fusaichi Pegasus has hit with about 12% of his juvenile firsters in a 308-runner study, about 7% with first-time turfers after 346 starters; sire ran 2nd in only start at 2, took Kentucky Derby on way to near $2 million bankroll, never turfed; March 3 foal is out of a 6 for 24 dam that banked over $100K; dam's other foal to race was third in best result; could need one.
Im a Giant Star
Giant's Causeway about 9% with juvenile firsters in an 302-horse sample, about 9% with first-time turfers in a 540-runner sample; sire won juvenile debut by 7, was a monster on grass; unraced dam is kin to three win; dam dropped 4 others, all winners including double stakes winner and near $135K earner Citizen; 2 cashed on grass, one was a double winner at 2; respect connections.
Inherit the Throne
Limited turf data on Time to Get Even; Grade 3 winning sire didn t run at 2 or on turf, banked $150K; dam won twice at 2 but not on grass; all 5 siblings won; 4 won at 2 including a debut winner; none tried grass; best race was here but that was a long time ago; needs very best.
Kantina Kowgirl
Kodiak Kowboy 0 for 6 with first-time turfers; sire won 4 times at 2, won multiple Grade 1s, never turfed; dam won once on dirt as older horse; several multiple race winners in the tree; a couple won at 2, 2 won on grass including over $300K earner Roi Charmant; she only beat a pair home last time; must hurry.
Chicago Angel
Illinois Storm 1 for 23 with first-time turfers; sire won juvenile debut at Arlington by 7, passed the N2X level, was 2nd in best turf moment; dam out of the money twice; this is her first to race; crushed the first time in this league, not much better luck when offered for sale; may need softer foes.
Euroclydon
Singletary 3 for 20 with first-time turfers; sire took debut at 2, won BC Mile, banked over $1.7 million, all on turf; dam was unraced; lone sibling won juvenile debut on dirt for only score; at least she flashed a bit of speed in last; respect her speed.
Sweet Lips Pooh
Rio Verde 3 for 34 with first-time turfers; sire took awhile to graduate, won U.S. bow in a N1X long on grass, was 2 for 11, all on turf; dam won at 2, never turfed, earned about $150K; both siblings won, neither at 2 or on turf; off the rail this time; she has had her chances.
Chilada
See rail for sire stats; dam was unraced; lone full bro was out of the money in only try; runner seemed in a good spot in last, could not close the deal; homebred may need softer to shine.
