Beryl Threewitt dies at 98

Jay Privman|Jul 13, 2010

Beryl Threewitt, the wife of retired trainer Noble Threewitt, died on Monday night at the age of 98, leaving behind her husband of 77 years, who has been in poor health in recent years.

Services for Threewitt will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the California Thoroughbred Horsemen's Foundation, the medical facility based at Santa Anita that was founded by Noble Threewitt to provide care for backstretch workers.

The Threewitts have three grandchildren - Cathleen Enriquez, and Christine and Christopher Chinnici.

Noble Threewitt resides at an assisted living facility in Covina, Calif., according to Kevin Bolling, the executive director of the horsemen's foundation.
