Belvoir to bring stable to California

Trainer Vann Belvoir, who finished ninth in the standings at the recently-concluded Turf Paradise meeting in Arizona, will have a 39-horse stable in California this spring and summer.

The team arrived from Phoenix on Tuesday, three days after the end of the Turf Paradise meeting. Belvoir had 15 wins from 121 runners at Turf Paradise. Belvoir’s stable will be based at Los Alamitos.

Belvoir plans to be active at the current Santa Anita meeting, which runs through June 14; the three-week Los Alamitos meeting from June 19 to July 5; and the Del Mar summer meeting which begins on July 17.

“A lot of my clients are California people and they like to run there,” he said.

Belvoir said the stable consists of numerous California-bred 2-year-olds that will start at Los Alamitos and Del Mar.
