Belmont to take Saratoga signal

ELMONT, N.Y. - Belmont Park will replace Aqueduct as the New York City area site of Saratoga simulcasts for the upcoming meet, which opens July 23 and runs through Sept. 1.

Because of major construction relating to the installation of 4,500 video lottery terminals at Aqueduct, the simulcasts were moved to Belmont.

There will be free parking and admission at Belmont for the Saratoga simulcasts. The first floor of the grandstand and the backyard area will be open to the public. The second floor of the clubhouse, which has air conditioning and the paddock dining room, also will be open, as will the North Shore Terrace on the fourth floor of the clubhouse. There will be a $3 admission charge for the North Shore Terrace.

Racing will be conducted at Saratoga on Wednesdays through Mondays.
