Belmont Stakes ticket sales start next week
OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Tickets for the June 11 Belmont Stakes at Belmont Park go on sale next week, and depending on when you purchase them and where you want to sit, you could be paying the same or as much as 50 percent more than a year ago.
Grandstand general admission will begin at $15 – the same price as last year – but only until Preakness Day. Thereafter, the price goes up to $20, and if any walk-up tickets remain, the price will be $25 on race day. Clubhouse general admission starts at $50 – $10 more than in 2015 – with the price rising to $60 on race day.
Last year, when American Pharoah was going for the Triple Crown, the New York Racing Association did not sell tickets the day of the race. It also capped attendance at 90,000. NYRA did not announce an attendance cap Friday, though that could change if there is a Triple Crown at stake.
Reserved seats in the grandstand range in price from $45 to $145. Reserved seats in the clubhouse range from $55 (partial view) to $225. There also are bundled price options for Friday, June 10, and Saturday, June 11.
Tickets go on sale to the general public Thursday at 10 a.m. Eastern. However, from Monday through Wednesday, NYRA is offering a presale to NYRA Rewards members, previous Belmont Stakes reserved-seat and hospitality-ticket buyers, and horseplayers and fans who join a mailing list at NYRA.com or Belmontstakes.com.
NYRA also announced that the country music duo Maddie & Tae will perform following the June 10 card. NYRA has not yet announced the live entertainment lineup for the Belmont Stakes program.
