Belmont: Stablemates Stay Thirsty, Uncle Mo will break from post 3 in respective races

Barbara D. Livingston Stay Thirsty is the horse to beat in Saturday's Grade 1 Jockey Club Gold Cup.

ELMONT, N.Y. - Stay Thirsty and Uncle Mo both drew post 3 in their respective races for Saturday’s stakes extravaganza at Belmont Park.

Stay Thirsty will break from post 3 in a seven-horse field drawn for the $750,000 Jockey Club Gold Cup. His primary challenger, Flat Out, will break from post 6. Others entered include Ice Box, Rodman, Drosselmeyer, A. U. Miner, and Birdrun.

Uncle Mo will break from post 3 in a five-horse field entered for the $200,000 Kelso Handicap. Inside of him are Jersey Town, who drew the rail, and Jackson Bend. Outside of Uncle Mo are Golddigger’s Boy and Sangaree.

Woodward winner Havre de Grace drew post 5 and Alabama champion Royal Delta post 2 for the $350,000 Beldame Invitational at 1 1/8 miles. Others entered include Life At Ten (the rail), Banker’s Buy (post 3), and Satans Quick Chick (post 4).

Cape Blanco, the Man o’ War and Arlington Million winner, drew the rail for the $500,000 Joe Hirsch Turf Classic Invitational and will face Teaks North, Dean’s Kitten, Mission Approved, and Winchester.

Stacelita, the Beverly D winner, drew the outside post in an eight-horse field set to contest 1 1/4 miles in the Flower Bowl. Her competition will include Deluxe, Dynaslew, Emerald Beech, Aruna, Gitchee Goomie, Distorted Legacy, and Senada.

Defending sprint champion Big Drama drew post 6 in a nine-horse field for the $350,000 Vosburgh Invitational. Others entered include Force Freeze, Apriority, Euroears, Calibrachoa, Giant Ryan, Justin Phillip, Trappe Shot, and Caixa Eletronica.

The pick four, which will have a guaranteed pool of $500,000, will start with the Vosburgh and include the Keslo, Beldame and Jockey Club Gold Cup.
