Belmont pick-six carryover of $114,554 for Friday
ELMONT, N.Y. – There will be a pick-six carryover of $114,554 at Belmont Park on Friday after the wager went unhit for a second consecutive card.
The pick six begins on race 4, which on Friday isn’t until 4:33 p.m. Eastern since first post is 3 p.m.
There were live tickets on five of the eight horses heading into Thursday’s finale, including one on Rapscallion, who, despite being seven wide in the stretch, looked like he was on his way to victory. But Non Stop – one of three horses not covered – split horses under Jose Lezcano and won a head bob.
Non Stop was only a 5-1 shot and returned $12.80. Rapscallion was a 12-1 shot. All the live tickets heading into Thursday’s finale were sold in Canada, according to a person in the New York Racing Association mutuel department, and the payout would have been $143,192, according to the will pays.
Logical horses won the first three legs of Thursday’s pick six, but double-digit-priced winners Delightful Erin ($17), Iron Power ($18.80), and Non Stop took the last three legs.
Four of the six races in Friday’s pick-six sequence are scheduled for turf, including the $100,000 Perfect Sting Stakes for fillies and mares, which drew a field of 10, though Pink Poppy is expected to scratch to run in a stakes at Parx on Saturday.
